A day with Finchy

I had a long overdue visit from Finchy today. She was off work, so she offered to take me to my radiotherapy appointment in the morning, then we spent the rest of the day hanging out at my place.

We spent a lot of time talking, catching up on everything that has gone on since the last time that we got to sit down and see each other. Then, we headed to my art room to work on crafts. I decided that I would finally start working on my wedding album since I happened to run across the box that had all of my printed wedding pictures. I made decent progress, or at least I am satisfied with the amount of progress that I made for one day. I still have quite a large stack of pictures to add to the album, but slowly I will manage to get it done.

Finchy surprised me with a very kind gift, an encouraging book about friendship and a faith stone that has a mustard seed inside that I am absolutely in love with! I want to figure out how to wire wrap the stone so that I can wear it as a pendant on a necklace.

See that little circle underneath the word “faith”? That’s an actual mustard seed!

“For truly I tell you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

Matthew 17:20

I have learned so many things over the last year since I found out that I was dealing with terminal cancer, but one of the most important things that God has taught me is that a friend’s counsel and companionship is sweeter than anything this world has to offer.
